What to do in Brignoles?

Brignoles is a pretty village in the green Provence that deserves a visit. Marked by a medieval past, it is the former village of the counts of Provence. This small town full of history has beautiful places and sites to see. Villanovo offers you a guided tour for your next visit to Brignoles.

The old castle dating from the 11th century was the residence of the counts of Provence in the 13th century. Today it has been transformed into a museum (Museum of arts and popular traditions). The latter is home to a Gallic sarcophagus from the 2nd or 3rd century, a real treasure of the Christian world.

The church of Saint Sauveur, the result of a unique architectural mixture, was reworked several times over the centuries. The portal of the church is of Roman inspiration and the two wooden doors date from the end of the 17th century.

Many of the old districts of the town date back to the Middle Ages and some to the 17th century. Walking, discover the ramparts and the historical center of the village. Surrounded by stone houses, gothic chapels, and fountains, you will be immersed in a singular medieval universe.  Sit on a terrace on the Place de Caramy decorated with old facades and a beautiful fountain in its center.
