Sri Lanka is the little pearl of Asia that is worth seeing. Between sublime natural landscapes and unique cultures, the island of Ceylon is perfect for hiking. If you are sporty, this is the time to walk in the heart of this Asian jewel. Easier or more challenging, suitable for children or not, here is our selection of hikes that are not to be missed during your stay in Sri Lanka.

For athletes: Adam's Peak

Adam's Peak is one of the most difficult hikes in Sri Lanka but one of the most beautiful. Adam's Peak is a mountain of over 2000 metres, located on the Southwest of the island. The place is considered sacred by locals of all religions. Be careful, however, not to venture on Adam's Peak during the monsoon season. The ideal season for this hike is between December and April. We advise leaving at night to arrive for the sunrise. From above, you will have a breathtaking view that will leave you speechless.

Horton Plains is a National Park listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the vicinity of Nuwara Eliya, these landscapes of high plateaus will surprise you. The World's End hike is easy and ideal for a family outing. It will take you about 3h30 to make the loop. Although the area is rather touristy, we still recommend doing this hike, as it is one you will not forget any time soon. Admire the rich biodiversity of the natural park and stroll through the heart of Sri Lankan vegetation. This haven of peace, magical and out of time, will offer you a total change of scenery.
