Villa Solega is a late 19th century charming house in Paço de Sousa (Penafiel), only 30 minutes away from the city of Porto and 1hour from Douro Valley, which has been restored maintaining its traditional characteristics, in order to offer a self-exclusive comfortable and relaxed stay to those who want to enjoy nature and the historical heritage of northern Portugal.

Indoors

There are 6 double rooms available in the Historic Manor House and plus 4 rooms in a new developed wing, the living room has a TV with vodafone service and a library heated with a salamander, one Enoteca - a wine’s room - with a sitting room and with a fireplace, a dining room and also a kitchen fully equipped with everything that you might need to spent relaxed days, away from the big cities. The Solega's rooms are separated into two main themes, folk art and history. The decoration is therefore contemporary, while retaining a traditional touch. With a view, these air-conditioned rooms all have a private bathroom with a hairdryer.


Outdoors

Outside there is a children’s playground and a swimming pool created to provide a stay with peace and tranquility in a rural environment.
In the surroundings and walking distance there is a grocery store, bakery and coffee shops.


Staff & Services

Staff at the property organize hiking tours at an additional cost. You can also rent bicycles and visit the Roman road. Villa Solega is ideally located for exploring the northern region of Portugal, being less than an hour's drive from historic towns such as Guimarães, Braga and Amarante.

No Team in the House during the stay (except at the check-in moment, check out moment; sometimes in the morning or in the afternoon to water the flowers/vegetable garden, or for eventual technical maintenance of the house / pool, ...). 

The price includes a welcome basket for the arrival, fresh bread every day left at the main door, a weekly cleaning and a change of bed and bath linens (only for stay of 1 week or longer - the weekly cleaning is on the 4th day).

Events (wedding, etc) are not allowed at the house. 


Location

Located in Paço de Sousa, just 30 minutes drive from downtown Porto with its many shops and restaurants. Porto International Airport is a 30 minute drive away and 1h from Douro Valley.  The villa offers a shuttle service at an additional cost.
