10 travel tips from Villanovo:

1 . When going to the airport, remember to print your boarding passes in advance in case you have a problem if your boarding passes are in your smartphone. With a paper version, you are sure not to encounter any problems during the controls!

2 . If you can, remember to book your holidays in low season. The first reason is that you will avoid tourist floods and finally, in some countries the cost of living is much cheaper than in high season, especially in Asia where you can enjoy more attractive prices in restaurants, during visits etc...

3 . Before you fly, remember to make a photocopy of your travel documents or take your passport and identity card with you and take only one of them with you when travelling in the country you are visiting in case you are a victim of theft.

4 . If you are going on holiday with friends, you can use apps like "TriCount" that will allow you to share expenses like shopping and restaurants without you having to calculate everything yourself

5 . Note that it is very disadvantageous for you to exchange your original currency at airports because exchange rates are often very high. If you have the possibility, prefer to change your notes from your home country, and in several denominations preferably for small basic expenses.

6 . An app to meet people during your travels: Couch surfing! Meeting locals or other travellers during your stay can be a unique experience and an opportunity to make new friends or ask for good addresses!

7 . Let yourself be tempted by street-food! It is a good way to discover the gastronomy of a country without taking too much time in the restaurant if you have a day full of visits and you will be pleasantly surprised by the flavours of the country you are visiting.

8 . If you are going on a physical trip and have planned to climb mountains and hike extensively, for example in Laos, which offers superb landscapes and mountains to explore, don't forget to travel with the necessary equipment to treat yourself in case of an injury. It would be a shame if your wound became infected and you wasted time in a doctor's office.

9 . Learn a few words in the local language. It is always nice for locals to see that travellers make the effort to speak their language, and you can learn some polite formulas and foods so you don't waste too much time choosing your dish at the restaurant or when you shop to stock your villa's fridge.

10 . In some markets such as souks or street markets in Thailand, don't be afraid to negotiate prices (especially if you travel in high season), sometimes sellers take advantage of your status as a tourist, hence the importance of knowing a few words, it will make you an informed traveller!
