Enjoying the beaches and the sun

Mykonos has many beaches, some rocky, some sandy, some lively, some quiet, with plenty of snorkeling opportunities. If you are looking for a less festive beach, the beaches of Agios Sostis and Agrari are for you. Away from the hustle and bustle of the center, you can enjoy the Greek sunshine and discover the island's underwater wildlife.
If you are looking for a lively beach, you will find Ornos or Paradise Beach. Many restaurants and bars with music are open all day. At nightfall, these beaches become even more lively, with parties and gatherings.

Choras is one of the most typical villages in the Cyclades and among the most beautiful in Greece. With its picturesque narrow streets, white houses, and colorful balconies, Choras is the perfect place to take an afternoon stroll and discover the small shops, souvenir boutiques, and restaurants in the area. The sun reflecting off the pristine white houses contrasting with the fun wooden doors painted in bright colors will give you wonderful shots of the little village.

What to do and see in Mykonos?

Located at the bottom of the hill by the sea, "Little Venice" is one of the most romantic areas of Choras on the island. You can admire the old houses balanced on the water in the Venice style and come and eat inside. Swept by the sound of the waves and the iodine, these restaurants offer local flavors based on fish and seafood. Whether sitting at the table or on the small pebble beach, you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets where the light is reflected on the small houses that seem to float on the water.

One of the most characteristic features of Mykonos is its famous windmills. Scattered all over the island, these mills are the legacy of the island's past grain production. To find out more, don't hesitate to visit the Bonis windmill, which is now a museum. Even though they are no longer in use, these mills are still very popular with tourists. Come and admire the beautiful sunsets.

Mykonos has several small, well-preserved, and beautiful churches. The church of Paraportiani is one of them and is around, lime-covered Byzantine building dating from the 16th century. Located at the entrance to the Kastro district in the town of Choras, there are five interlocking churches, which explains its unique shape. Its white color offers magnificent plays of light contrasting with the blue of the sky or the ocean.
