The island of La Maddalena

On the northwest coast of Sardinia lies a jewel: the archipelago of La Maddalena. Made up of 7 islands, it is a protected environment that is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the region. To get there, you'll need to take a ferry from the port of Palau, which will take you to the town of La Maddalena. There are three different companies serving this destination, and you can make the crossing with or without a car. You can also rent a car once you arrive.

The main island of the archipelago, it is also the only populated island. Once you arrive at the port of the town of the same name, stroll through the small streets of La Maddalena and discover its history by visiting its museums. This little corner of paradise is ideal for a quiet holiday and offers heavenly beaches. Enjoy sunbathing in unspoilt nature, its clear waters are perfect for snorkelling. If you wish to visit the other islands, Maddalena is connected to the island of Caprera by a road bridge. Its port communicates with the other islands and you can hire a boat to get there. There are day trips that allow you to visit all the islands. Don't miss the two most beautiful beaches of the archipelago: Cala Corsara on the island of Spargi, and the pink beach on the island of Budelli.

The islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro

Located in the south of Sardinia, these two small islands are perfect for a family getaway. Sant'Antioco is famous for its beaches, its relics (the sanctuary of Sant'Antioco Martyr) and its archaeological sites (the menhirs of Sa Mongia and Su Para). This island is connected to the mainland by a bridge, but San Pietro is only accessible by sea. To get there, take a ferry from the port of Portovesme or Calasetta. You will arrive in the village of Carloforte, where you will find small shops and restaurants. You can relax on the beach and snorkel in the clear waters, and enjoy a gastronomic experience.
