A pretty seaside resort, Oualidia is ideally situated between Casablanca, Marrakech, and Essaouira and is close to the town of Safi.
Bathed by the Atlantic coast, this fishing village attracts many tourists who come to discover the pearl of the Atlantic. Connected to the sea, Oualidia is one of the two cities in Morocco known for its oyster farming. Indeed, its lagoon is home to several oyster farms, the largest producer in Oualidia is the Ostréa farm, which offers its products in its restaurant. The most produced oyster species in Oualidia is the Grassostrea Gigas. This product supplies the tables of Casablanca and the rest of the Moroccan kingdom. Before being marketed, each oyster is bathed in a tank to be purified. A fresh and nutritious product that attracts many tourists from all over the world every year!
In addition, every year in summer, the oyster is celebrated during a festival. For several days, this event highlights the flagship product, the ecological and cultural side of the city.
Along the beach of Oualidia you will discover small fishing boats moored. Freshly returned from the sea, some fishermen sell their fresh products directly on the beach. It is not uncommon to come across people enjoying grilled fish, shellfish, or seafood platters on the beach.
You can also find fresh fish at El Jadida's central market and in restaurants. Your stay in Oualidia cannot be considered complete without sampling the wonders of the sea.

Thanks to the aquaculture of oysters and other shellfish, the town has acquired a great reputation in terms of gastronomy. People come to Oualidia for its seafood platters, its sea urchin tasting, the improvised barbecues on the beach. At the seaside you will find many restaurants offering seafood on their menu.
