Once arrived in Cabo da Roca, the first thing to do is to go and see the lighthouse, which is still active. This magnificent red and white lighthouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean began operating at the end of the 18th century and is 165 metres high.
Then go and see the stone monument with a cross at the top where the poem by the famous Luís de Camões, "Onde a terra se acaba e o mar começa", meaning "the place where the land ends and the sea begins", is inscribed.
