Ibiza is unquestionably by far one of the most magical places to spend your holidays. With its white Ibiza-styled houses, enchanting sunsets, stylish parties, and dreamlike beaches, no wonder has it become one of many people's getaway-weaknesses!
One of the latest and original activities to incorporate in one's vacation in Ibiza is to discover the island by kayak. Its 210 km-coastline with calm turquoise waters, mysterious caves, and hidden coves make up for an enjoyable experience to explore this marvellous island while kayaking with friends and family.
However, among the many activities you can enjoy in Ibiza, have you ever wondered what it's like to kayak under a full moon? This activity can turn from being merely a fun water sport to a spiritual and romantic experience when enjoying it under this captivating lunar event. When planning your stay here, you should definitely include this activity in your itinerary!
Just imagine after a pleasant day wandering around Ibiza and enjoying lovely cocktails in San Antonio or basking in the sun on a comfy hammock in Cala Salada-- you then decide to book a kayaking excursion in the evening to witness the beautiful full moon.
You set off a while before the sun sets to contemplate the burning-gold-red scene in the sky, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bay area. While you drift along the glistening sea, you then begin to witness how the moon starts to rise until occupying its rightful place in the sky and see how the glowing orb illuminates the beautiful coastline. You can then decide to pop a bottle of cava and delight yourself and your significant other while soaking up the magical vibes of the full moon.
At a distance, the kayaks resemble floating lanterns in the sea, as the moon shimmers across the darkened water. And from your viewpoint, you can even view the stunning city buildings lit up against the night sky.
What an experience, huh?!
What's more, the possibilities for kayak routes are endless! Obviously, there are some whose fame surpasses others, such as the route through es Vedrà, but rest assured that any route you choose will make up for a lifetime of fond memories.
The place you set off really depends on you, as well as the time. As described earlier, we would highly suggest beginning this excursion in the early evening to get the chance of also seeing the sunset.
Here are some examples of kayak routes in Ibiza, but keep in mind that there are as many as you can dream of:
Contemplating the sunset and full moon near the islet of Es Vedrà, San José, will leave an indelible mark upon your memory.
Cliffs of Talamanca and Dalt Vila-- this is a beautiful route to see the walled city illuminated by the moon in the background.
From Cala d'Hort to Sa Pedrera-- for those who want to go on a longer route, this one lasts about 4 hours.
Cala Conta and Sa Conillera, San José. The vibrant and seamless waters of Cala Conta invite you to paddle around and discover its hidden islets and caves under the light of the full moon.
Tagomago, Santa Eulalia. One of the best-known islets of Ibiza. You'll love to see the lush greenery of the landscape as it hugs the beautiful beach. This spot is nature in its purest essence.
Benirràs, San Juan. Not only is Cala Benirràs known to offer one of the most impressive sunsets on the entire island, but is also one of the most popular hotspots for people to contemplate the magical full moon. Therefore, it's by far one of the kayak-lovers' favourite spots.
Cliffs of Na Xamena, San Juan. Known to be one of the highest cliffs on the island. Contemplating these majestic rocks on your kayak will make a marvellous impression on you.
Caves of Cala Bassa, San José. San Josés's coast harbours immense treasures. Be captivated as you discover its caves, which resemble beautiful hidden pools-- due to the light that impinges them.
