Ibiza's Best Beach Clubs and Restaurants for Families

At first glance, Ibiza may not seem like the ideal place to bring the kids. However, if you look beyond the 2 or 3 party spots that have (erroneously) come to define the island in recent decades, you will discover a wonderful Mediterranean beach destination—just as family-friendly as its Balearic cousins, Mallorca and Menorca. And who's to say that children do not enjoy a touch of festive fun themselves?

Ibiza is home to many beautiful beachside bars and restaurants—or beach clubs—offering menus and activities for kids alongside refreshing cocktails for Mum and Dad. We have selected our favourite ones just for you.

Cafe del Mar, San Antonio: World famous bar for pre or post party chilling

Cafe del Mar, San Antonio: World famous bar for pre or post party chilling

This iconic venue, located on a popular beach, is a great spot to experience Ibiza’s signature laid-back atmosphere. Perhaps best known for its downtempo chill out compilations, it is a mainstay of the San Antonio sunset strip. For 40 years, Café del Mar has been a great place to sit, cocktail in hand, and watch the sun slowly disappear into the water as chilled Balearic beats and soothing acoustic melodies waft past. The success of its music has led to the bar setting up a record label and even becoming a reference point the world over for 'Ibiza chill'.

Open from 16:30 until late, kids are welcome, but the music can be a little loud for the very youngest.

Babylon Beach Bar, Sa Caleta, Santa Eulalia: Plenty of activities for kids

Having opened in 2013, Babylon Beach Bar has for ten years provided a beautiful spot to enjoy top quality cuisine and a laid back Ibizan vibe. The menu combines the best of Mediterranean and European cuisine, with a strong preference for fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

The setting is idyllic, tucked away on Sa Caleta, a quiet cove a five minute walk from Santa Eulalia, and surrounded by ochre-coloured cliffs and the piercing blue of the Mediterranean. A sumptuous soundtrack completes the picturesque landscape.

And while the parents are relaxing in the restaurant or on the sunbeds under a bamboo umbrella, the kids are kept entertained with all manner of fun and games, including building sandcastles on the nice beach nearby or enjoying face painting. Highly recommended.

Tanit Beach Bar, Playa d'En Bossa: A family-friendly spot on the party beach

Tanit Beach Bar, Playa d'En Bossa: A family-friendly spot on the party beach

As the island's busiest beach, Playa d’En Bossa is not necessarily the first place that springs to mind when planning a beach holiday for the kids, but this delightful beach bar, named after the Phoenician goddess of fertility, who was thought to reside on Ibiza, offers an excellent option.

Thanks to its friendly staff and kids club, featuring plenty of fun activities to keep the little ones occupied, as well as its varied menu serving great food, there is sure to be something to please everyone. Aiyanna, Cala Nova: A great spot by one of the best beaches

From the same team behind the excellent Amante Beach Bar, the charming wooden decked terrace and rustic, barefoot charm of Aiyanna is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a bite and a drink with the children.

Set in the north of Ibiza on the fine sandy beach of Cala Nova, near San Carlos, whose shallow waters are ideal for children, this tastefully designed establishment is to be commended for its status as a biosphere sustainable enterprise, thanks to its commitment to sourcing Kilometre zero food, often from its own vegetable garden, as well as its plastic-free policy and use of renewable energy, it truly embraces the island’s natural beauty and feels like a slice of paradise.

Beyond the warm welcome and stunning location, the kids menu makes sure that it has something for the whole family.

El Chiringuito de Maria, Playa Talamanca: Delightfully rustic charm

El Chiringuito de Maria, Playa Talamanca: Delightfully rustic charm

One of those quiet, rustic spots that reminds you that the quiet understated charm of Ibiza is far from lost. A great place to enjoy an authentic meal, this kiosk-type beach shack found at the far end of Playa Talamanca by Ibiza Town, El Chiringuito de Maria (also known as the Fish Shack) has been charming locals and visitors for almost 40 years. It offers authentic cuisine with the minimum of fuss and a warm welcome to all. Given it's almost 'pop-up' appearance, it's down-to-earth charm might not be for those seeking something a little more glitzy, but for a simple, pleasant evening with a beautiful view of the bay, it's difficult to beat.

Cala Bassa Beach Club, Cala Bassa: Best place for west coast calm

This stunningly beautiful bay with its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters is, without doubt one of the best beaches of the island. An oasis of calm on the west coast of Ibiza, this nice beach is a great place to spend the day at the beach soaking up the sun and making the most of the top notch services on offer, including massages, paddle surf, jet skis among others.

While the kids play on the gorgeous sandy beach and surrounding shallow waters, their lucky parents can stretch out on sun beds, and under gazebos, while listening to the music of resident DJs go drifting by. And the food? Absolutely delicious.

Without doubt one of the most kids-friendly beach clubs in Ibiza.

Es Torrent: While away the day in perfect serenity

Es Torrent: While away the day in perfect serenity

The idyllic surroundings of Es Torrent represent the perfect place to stop off and take in a truly peaceful atmosphere at one of Ibiza's fantastic beach clubs. Situated on a stunning private beach, a rocky cove between Ibiza Town and Es Cubells, Es Torrent offers delicious seafood and arroces (rice dishes). A crucial difference between this charming restaurant and other beach clubs is that it doesn't play music, ensuring that the only soundtrack to your meal is the breath-like waves lapping at the shore and the gentle breeze cooling the warm summer months. Be mindful, though, that there are rocks in the water, so water shoes might be a good idea for little ones.

Villanovo's recommendation: try the bullit de peix - a local favourite.

Yemanjá Restaurant, Cala Jondal: The best beach restaurant for kids

The paradisiacal setting of Cala Jondal on the far south of the white isle, is the site for Yemenja Beach Restaurant. Providing plenty of shady spots as well as a beautiful view looking out over long stretches of powdery sand and glistening clear waters. It is no wonder that so many people choose this location for an afternoon of unwinding and indulging in local culinary delights.

Beyond the charms of great view and a sandy beach offering plenty of space for kids to play, the staff also make a special effort to ensure everyone feels welcome. There are plenty of activities for kids to take part in, while parents can also enjoy the 'lazy lunches' (the paella is exceptional) and laid back Balearic vibe of this gorgeous spot. What's more, it offers all this alongside very reasonable prices, making it a favourite even in high season.

Open from 11am until 6pm, both in the summer and out of season, Yemanja Beach Restaurant gets a strong thumbs up from us.

Bam Bu Ku, San Antonio: A family-friendly beach club with a lively atmosphere

Bam Bu Ku, San Antonio: A family-friendly beach club with a lively atmosphere

Located in the heart of San Antonio, Bam Bu Ku is an exciting beach club that caters to both adults and children. With a large pool, comfortable sun loungers, and a fun-packed program of activities, it offers a vibrant but family-friendly alternative to the island’s famous party scene. Kids can enjoy games and splash in the pool while parents relax with delicious cocktails and international cuisine. Whether you’re looking for a fun day out or a relaxed afternoon by the water, Bam Bu Ku brings a fresh take on Ibiza’s beach club scene.

El Chiringuito, Playa Es Cavallet: Soft sand and stunning ocean view

Another great spot for those staying near Ibiza Town, El Chiringuito can be found on a white sandy beach mere minutes from the Ses Salines nature spot. Blessed with beautiful views of both the Dalt Vila of the island's capital and nearby Formentera, this charming, rustic-looking beach bar serves a fantastic kids menu, including breakfasts and snacks. Meanwhile, the adults can make the most of an eclectic menu offering delicious food infused with influences from France, Spain and Italy.

The staff are friendly and the cocktails sharp. What more could you possibly want? The staff is friendly and the cocktails sharp. The sun loungers are perfectly placed for enjoying the stunning view while the kids run around on the soft sand. What more could you possibly want?
