Want leave for an adventure with your family? Sri Lanka is the perfect destination to get away from it all and find yourself with your loved ones. Relatively safe country, it is perfectly suitable for your children. In addition to this, Sri Lanka is full of surprises and new and fun experiences: discovering and approaching animals more amazing than each other, relax or have fun in the many paradisiacal beaches of the country, moving in Tuk -tuk, cycling in the midst of exceptional landscapes, or the fun discovery of a new culture ... In short, everyone finds its pleasure. Then, without waiting, discover the unusual activities of Sri Lanka you will build unforgettable family memories around, on the other side of the world.
The beaches of Sri Lanka are conducive to change of scenery and a relaxing time. From the outset, upon your arrival on the Asian land, nothing is better than than to walk on one of these little corners of paradise to recover from a long journey and the jet lag. For that, the beach of Bentota and its shady palms are ideal!
But among all these many beaches, which ones are the best for your little ones?
First, Polhena and Marissa, where you can dive your eyes completely closed! With their low and shallow tides, these beaches are safe for the youngest. There, you can relax at one of the small typical restaurants, where local restaurateurs, as in most places, will be happy to present you their non-spicy suggestions for your kids. Concerning the water sports, the olders can be tempted by body surfing. As for the lively beach of Arugam Bay, with beautiful waves, it offers the opportunity to participate in water activities such as surfing. The younger ones, they will find a small corner where the sea there is calmer to be able to go to the sea safely!
The discovery of animals
It is well known that children love animals. Sheltering a fauna quite diversified, Sri Lanka will marvel as well, you parents, as your little ones. Usually confined to zoos, this is an opportunity to live a new experience and immerse yourself in the natural habitat of these animals in freedom.
At the Kandy Botanical Garden, in addition to the discovery of the beautiful trees extracted from Alice in Wonderland, your children will be able to let off steam by climbing in the trees with the local school children in uniform, but also to race with the monkeys housed in the park.
Not far from Kandy, is the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, a must-see. This shelter welcomes over 80 elephants receiving care to which visitors can participate: give them a meal and bath, but also cover them with hugs ... A daydream for the majority of children (and parents)!
But you will not be at the end of your surprises. Sri Lanka opens the possibility to many safaris in different reserves. By foot or 4x4, venture into parks such as Uda Walawe. In addition to elephants, they can approach buffaloes, leopards, deer, waders and peacocks, which will leave them totally amazed!
In addition to its natural parks, the Asian country is full of magnificent beaches, lagoons and canals, where it is possible to approach turtle farms. From the coast, it is not surprising to see dolphins and whales. What discoveries rich in emotions!
Visiting, but having fun above all!
We are not unaware that the patience of children, in terms of visits, can be (very) limited ... For the little ones, visiting often means "walk, walk, walk" or to stroll in cultural sites which they are not always old enough to get any interest, and so quickly fall into boredom.
Sri Lanka is full of "tips and tricks" to make these visits, sources of entertainment! First, the tuk-tuks are ideal for short distances and constitute proper attractions. These fun ways of transportation that sneak on the roads, will delight your children (and probably you!)
In terms of cultural sites, they are quite conducive to awake the attention of your kids. The site Sigiriya, called "rock lion", will put the full view to the whole family: to access its gigantic rock with breathtaking views, you will go through water gardens moated with moats. During the course, monkeys appear on all sides, to the delight of children. Besides that, we highly recommend Polonnaruwa. Large site forbidden to cars, children can run and let off steam without any risk. And why not even take a bike ride between the ruins. Asian sites are mostly composed of ancient temples, forts, jungle etc. What to transport your children from the world of Indiana Jones!
On the other hand, you can not leave Sri Lanka without admiring its magnificent tea plantations. You can then take a typical train snaking the endless hectares.
